General Science and Validation

Some sets of simulations are not tied to a particular project but are of general use for multiple projects or used to verify the scientific validity of our model set-up.

An example of validation runs are the 1985-2010 W@H Europe simulations which are used to determine the model climatology/ baseline in the current climate. When looking at specific events for other projects, we can then refer to this baseline in our analysis. In addition, by comparing our model climatology with observations, we see if the model is realistically capturing the full range of possible weather.
